Ingredients: | ||||
1 | Cup | Butter | ||
1.5 | Cup | Sugar (Granulated) | ||
1 | Each | Egg | ||
1 | Tsp. | Vanilla Extract | ||
2 1/2 | Cup | Flour (All Purpose) | ||
1 1/2 | Tsp. | Baking Powder | ||
1/2 | Tsp. | Salt | ||
1/2 | Tsp. | Almond Extract | ||
5 | Drops | Food Coloring (Red) | ||
1/2 | Cup | Walnuts (Chopped) | ||
1 | Oz. | Chocolate (Pre-melted) | ||
Instructions: | ||||
Dough |
||||
1. Cream together butter into sugar. | ||||
2. Beat in egg and vanilla. | ||||
3. Slowly add dry ingredients and beat mixture for 3 minutes. | ||||
4. Divide dough into 3 parts. | ||||
5. To one third of the batter, stir in almond extract and the red food coloring. | ||||
6. Line a 9"x5" loaf pan with waxed paper. | ||||
7. Pat the first prepared third of the dough into the pan. | ||||
8. To another third, add chopped nuts and stir. | ||||
9. Spread evenly over pink dough in pan. | ||||
10. To remaining dough, add melted chocolate. | ||||
11. Spread evenly on top of second layer. | ||||
12. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. | ||||
Baking |
||||
13. Remove dough from pan. | ||||
14. Cut in half lengthwise (may cut into thirds if smaller cookie is desired.) | ||||
15. Slice each half into 1/8" slices. | ||||
16. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 min. | ||||
