Instructions: |
|

1.
Combine flour and salt. |
|
2. In a large bowl, beat the shortening, cream cheese, and powdered sugar until
smooth. |
|
3.
Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. |
|
4.
Divide the dough in half. |
|
5. Wrap each half in waxed paper and chill for 8 hours. |
|
6.
On floured surface, roll out one half of the dough to a rectangle approximately
10x11.5". |
|
7.
Trim the edges of the dough and cut lengthwise into 4 strips. |
|
8.
Cut each strip into 5 squares. |
|
9.
Place 1/4 tsp. raspberry preserves in the center of each square. |
|
10.
Fold the corners into the center to form a folded square. |
|
11.
Place 1" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. |
|
12.
Bake for 10 to 12 min. until lightly colored and transfer to wire racks to cool. |
|
13.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar. |
|

Baking
note: use fluted pastry cutter for a decorative edge. |
